Do Components Exist?

It seems like an easy question. However, once we look past the surface and begin to gauge impact and adoption, we'll find out that the concept of a component is harder to identify. Is a card with a button a single component, or is it a composition of several components? How do patterns and styles affect the definition? In this conversational session, Donnie will dive into ontological concepts and how they might relate to categorizing design resources to evaluate usage in any particular experience. When we use the same units of measurement, how we communicate success across systems becomes consistent.

Narratives That Drive Success: The Power of Storytelling in Business and Product Development

In a fast-paced tech world, the ability to communicate effectively has never been more critical. Brad Lawrence, an acclaimed storytelling coach and expert, delves into the transformative role that storytelling can play in the world of business and product development.

This session will focus on ways designers, product managers, engineers or any professional seeking to harness the power of narrative to inspire, persuade, and connect more deeply with their audience. Whether you're aiming to secure buy-in for your ideas, foster a stronger brand identity, or build more meaningful connections with your customers and team, storytelling is the key to elevating your message beyond mere facts and figures.

Brad brings a wealth of experience from coaching Fortune 500 companies to one-on-one sessions with individuals aiming for personal and professional growth. Brad's approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has a story worth telling—a story that can drive change, inspire action, and lead to meaningful connections. Whether you’re looking to elevate your presentations, engage more effectively with clients, or simply communicate your ideas more powerfully within your team, this session will equip you with the tools and insights needed to leverage storytelling as your ultimate asset.
